What experience do I need to own a pie shop with Laurie’s Pie Bar?

Do you love to bake? That’s the first thing we’ll ask you when you inquire about franchise ownership with Laurie’s Pie Bar. We are looking for financially qualified individuals who are excited to spend their days baking pies and growing their business. If you can see yourself following our system and finally turning what you love to do into a thriving career, the Laurie’s Pie Bar franchise opportunity may be for you.

What is provided as part of the Laurie’s Pie Bar franchise program?

You already love to bake, so we don’t need to teach that. Everything else we can teach you. We will invite you to our flagship location in Long Beach, California for three days. We’ll get to know each other while you learn operations, marketing, vendor relationships, inventory, equipment, and so much more. And you’ll eat some great pie while you’re there! We will always be available via phone and email when you need us, and you will have exclusive access to our confidential operations manual, from the moment you are selected to own a pie shop with Laurie’s Pie Bar. Plus, we’ll send a team from the home office to your shop for up to five days to help you open your doors and feel confident in your ability to wow your community with a warm and wonderful pie!

How much will the franchise cost me?

The estimated initial investment necessary to begin operations ranges from $230,600 – $478,000. This includes a $35,000 initial franchise fee for a single territory agreement. As with any new venture, it’s important to have adequate capital to fund the initial business growth stages.

Is financing available?

We do not provide direct financing to franchise owners, but we may refer to financing sources on a case-by-case basis.

Are there ongoing fees to pay?

We collect a 6% royalty fee based on gross revenues each week. Fees such as this allow us to fund our ongoing support services. Plus, the continued development of techniques and procedures, recipes, marketing tools, training programs, and system upgrades. For a full list of fees and requirements, please refer to our Franchise Disclosure Document (FDD).

Are there any advertising fees?

Franchise owners will contribute 1% of gross revenues into the brand marketing fund as a Luarie’s Pie Shop franchisee (this can increase to up to 3%). Collected funds will be used to develop marketing strategies to promote the Laurie’s Pie Bar brand and cover the creative costs to develop brand marketing materials and campaigns. Franchisees will also be required to invest in local marketing, initially 1% of gross sales, with a franchisor option to increase to 2%. Franchise owners are expected to spend at least $5,000 on their Grand Opening.

What is the term of the agreement?

The initial term of your agreement is ten years, with two subsequent successor agreement options of five years each.
